The refurbishment of this Edwardian town house was extensive- from taking off the entire façade of the rear of the house, to digging out a basement. The end result we wanted was a feeling of light and space throughout.

Here we updated the open plan sitting room / dining room. The feeling the client wanted was friendly urban chic, in neutral tones, with both contemporary and antique pieces. Nothing too formal or impractical as the rooms are used by all the family’.

Some projects involve refreshing just a few rooms in a house. Here we built on a conservatory extension, in keeping with the style of the rest of the room, and updated the bathrooms.
I persuaded the owners to go for bold dark colours to contrast with lighter hues, for maximum impact.

Fantastic height and space can be a challenge to fill. Large statement pieces, be it artwork, accessories or furniture, are a must.

I am often given a starting point to work around , in designing a room, such as an existing painting, as in the sitting room of this family home.

Elegance and simplicity can be achieved by not over dressing a room, and keeping the colour palette to a minimum.
